Senior year only happens once, and let me tell you — it deserves to be celebrated in a big way. At Noah’s Ark Photography, we don’t just take pretty pictures; we create an experience that leaves every senior feeling like the absolute rockstar they are. And Olivia? Oh my goodness… she brought so much life, laughter, and sparkle to her session that I’m still smiling every time I look at her portraits.
We spent a gorgeous day exploring some of my favorite Wayzata, MN locations before heading back to our studio for a little magic indoors. The result? A set of portraits that feel fresh, modern, and so perfectly Olivia.
Here’s the thing — every senior has their own vibe. Some want big, bold, colorful images. Others want something soft, timeless, and classic. Olivia? She gave us a little of everything, and I was here for it!
From the first time we chatted about her session, I knew she was going to shine. She had ideas, she had outfits, and she was ready to trust me when I said, “Okay, let’s try something a little different…” That’s when the magic really happens.
If you’ve never been to Wayzata, let me set the scene for you. It’s got gorgeous lake views that just glow in the right light, charming little streets with fun textures, and enough hidden gems to make every session unique.
We started Olivia’s day down by the lake. The water was calm, the sunlight was doing that dreamy sparkle thing, and Olivia’s confidence came through in every single frame. Her easy smile and relaxed energy made those lakeside portraits feel natural and effortless.
From there, we wandered to a few other Wayzata spots I love — a mix of greenery, architecture, and open spaces that let us play with different looks and moods. I always say that variety is key in senior portraits, and Olivia absolutely nailed every setting.
Once we had a beautiful collection of outdoor portraits, we headed back to the Noah’s Ark Photography studio. And here’s where we really get to play.
The studio is my happy place. It’s where I can control the light, switch up backgrounds in seconds, and let seniors experiment with more dramatic or fashion-forward looks. Olivia slipped into a completely different energy here — still herself, but with this elevated, confident vibe that I just loved.
She had a couple of killer outfit changes that worked perfectly in studio lighting. From soft, natural looks to something a little more bold and editorial, we got a range of portraits that show just how multi-dimensional she is.
Here’s what I tell every senior (and every parent): this is your year. Your portraits should feel like you. Not stiff. Not over-posed. Not cookie-cutter.
When you book with Noah’s Ark Photography, you’re not just getting pretty pictures — you’re getting a cheerleader in your corner (hi, that’s me), someone who’s going to hype you up the whole time, make sure your hair looks great, and help you feel comfortable enough to be your true self in front of the camera.
For Olivia, that meant lots of laughs, a few “you’re not allowed to take that outfit home” compliments from me, and a whole lot of “YES, girl!” when I saw her absolutely killing it in front of the lens.
I can’t talk about Olivia’s day without giving you a few tips in case you’re planning your own senior portraits:
Pick locations that mean something to you. Wayzata worked for Olivia because it matched her style and gave us tons of variety.
Bring outfit options. Layers, accessories, and a mix of casual and dressy can totally change the feel of your portraits.
Trust the process. Some of my favorite portraits happen when seniors let loose and try something unexpected.
Have fun! Seriously — if you’re relaxed and having a good time, it will show in every image.
I think what I loved most about Olivia’s portraits was how much of her came through in every single one. We didn’t just capture “a senior photo” — we captured a moment in her life where she’s confident, full of potential, and ready to take on the world.
Her lakeside portraits have this light, airy feel that I know her family will treasure forever. Her downtown Wayzata images have this fun, stylish vibe. And her studio portraits? Bold, beautiful, and totally timeless.
If you’re a senior (or a parent of one) and you’re ready to have portraits that you’ll actually love, I’d be honored to be part of your story. My goal is to make the whole process stress-free, fun, and full of personality. Whether we’re out by the lake in Wayzata, exploring somewhere new, or hanging out in the studio, I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
Because here’s the truth — senior year flies by. The homework, the games, the late nights with friends… it’s here and gone in a blink. But your portraits? Those stay. They’ll remind you exactly how this chapter felt, long after you’ve started your next adventure.
So let’s do this. Let’s make something amazing together.
